The John Haymes Newton Biography

With his muscular physique and dark good looks, John Haymes Newton seemed perfectly cast in the dual role of the teenage Clark Kent and his alter ego "Superboy" in the 1988 syndicated series. But after one season, he was replaced by another actor and instead began to carve out a career on stage and screen. The native North Carolinian headed to Manhattan at age 19 to study acting and soon found himself headlining a TV series. After leaving "Superboy", John Haymes Newton garnered praise for his leading role in a 1990 production of "Out Town" at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. John Haymes Newton's film career did not begin particularly auspiciously, playing a romantic rival to rapper Vanilla Ice, both vying for the affections of Kristin Minter, in "Cool as Ice" (1991) and graduated to leading roles with "Desert Kickboxer/Desert Hawk" (1992), playing a half-breed cop fighting drug dealers in Arizona. The role required the actor do little more than pose and look good while executing low-level martial arts stunts. "Alive" (1993) gave John Haymes Newton more to do as one of the survivors of a plane crash in the Andes.

Returning to the small screen, John Haymes Newton cut a handsome figure as the driver for Eliot Ness in the syndicated series remake of "The Untouchables" (1993-94). He seemed to find his niche when cast as a mysterious stranger who comes to the aid of Cassidy Rae in the Fox primetime soap "Models, Inc." (1994-95). Building on that performance, John Haymes Newton joined the cast of another of the network's serials, "Melrose Place", in 1998, portraying Ryan McBride, an executive who also happened to be the younger brother of restaurateur Kyle McBride (played by Rob Estes).

John Haymes Newton in Goodbye America

Although John Haymes Newton is not listed as one of the main characters in this film, he plays a very important part. The U.S. Navy is preparing to turn it's last navel base in the Philippines over to the local authorities. Among those assigned to prepare for the turnover, are three navy seals.

Lt. William Hawk (John Haymes Newton) Lt. Paul J Bladon (Alexis Arquette) and Lt. John Stryzack (Corin Nemic) Their are other notable actors in the movie, Michael York plays Arquette's father. He immediately interfears in his sons life, and so it goes between father and son. Another actor that makes his mark in this movie is James Brolin barkeep and owner of the local hangout. The three take liberty and head for the bar and enjoy the company of some the local girls. John (Corin Nemic) has a father that raised John to be narrow minded hard head. He (Corin Nemic) snaps and kills one of the local low life's.

The story goes on with John also being arrested for the attack on an underage girl. He escapes jail and becomes an armed fugitive intent on murdering everyone, even his friends.Hawk (John Haymes Newton)can't reason with his friend. An explosive chase ensues and tests the limit of friendship and patriotism. Hawk must chose between his once close friend and his duty to his country.

Can't tell you anymore without ruining the end but, theirs a lot more to this story worth viewing. Also some great scenes between Corin Nemic and John Newton. This movie has some violence and some language issues . It's up to you as to who may watch this movie in your home.

John Haymes Newton Movie. THE CHRISTMAS CARD

Hi Everyone,
I"m writing this in hopes their are more people like myself that enjoy a great Christmas movie, One ,that the whole family can sit down with some hot buttered popcorn and not have to worry about the contents of the movie. I'm a person that appreciates a good family story. It covers a little of what"s going on in our world and portrays a close, loving, family. The main theme of this made for T .V .movie is the love story that ensues between Cody (John Newton) and Faith (Alice Evans) Their story begins when he receives a Christmas Card from a tenderhearted, loving woman,  while he' s serving in the war in Afghanistan, He finds the card keeps him going after the loss of a good friend in a bomb attack. He's ordered to take leave and find out what life is like after serving several tours of duty in the army. When on leave, he visits the home of his friend that was killed, than goes on seeing the picturesque town of Nevada City Calif. While riding his motorcycle threw town, he stops at he  local diner, their he meets Faith Spelman (Alice Evans) for the first time. He wants to attend church the next morning which happens to be the church that the Spelman family attends, The usher turns out to be none other than  Luke Spelman (Ed Asner) He takes a liking to Cody (John Newton)  After the service, Luke calls out to Cody just as he's about to drive away on his bike. A car comes racing up the hill headed for Luke, Cody jumps in and saves his life. A greatful Luke, invites him to come home and have dinner with the family. After dinner and a game of touch football, Luke asks Cody where he's going after he leaves, Cody says, "I don't really know" Luke asks Cody to stay and work at the mill that he owns and Cody agrees to stay. The story goes on with Luke planning to make Cody a part of the family. He says it's just for the Christmas Holidays. Of course this a chance for Cody (John Newton) to get to know Faith (Alice Evans) Another person enters the picture, her long time boyfriend Paul, an international wine broker that is mostly international than home with his girl Faith. Paul, (Ben Weber) is not well liked by Luke. Faith's loving mother.,Rosie Spelman  is played by (Lois Nettleton).and Faith's very nice and fun loving,  Uncle Richard is played by (Peter Jason). Paul is home from his travels and becomes aware of the attraction between Faith and Cody. He asks  her to marry him and "she says yes," when Cody finds out about the engagement, he decides that the right thing to do is to leave against the prompting of Luke for him to stay and tell Faith that he loves her. Can't tell you what happens but, if  you like a good Christmas movie as I do, you will be a fan as I am. I haven't mentioned that  I am also a very big fan of John Newton's  Get this movie, get the family together, and make some popcorn while you enjoy a great movie that will warm your hearts. P.S. It doesn't have to be Christmas to enjoy this one. This was Hallmark"s highest rated film as told by Ed Asner in his interview.
